What we collect, why, and how to have it changed or deleted.
Who we are
Hemp Cards (hempcards.com.au) is run by BioSmart APEC Pty Ltd, ACN 615 378 080, in Byron Bay, NSW, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Your email address, and your name if you give it, when you join our mailing list or ask for free sample cards.
- Your name, email, postal address and order details when you buy from the shop, so we can post your order.
- What you write in the contact or wholesale forms, so we can reply.
- For affiliates: your contact details, ABN if you have one, and the payout details you choose to give us.
- Basic visit information (pages viewed, device type, rough location) through Google Analytics, and a cookie that remembers whether you chose AUD or USD.
We do not see or store your card details. Payments are handled by PayPal.
How we use it
To fill and post orders, answer messages, run the affiliate program, send the emails you signed up for, and see which pages are useful. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share only what is needed with the services that run the site: PayPal (payments), Resend (email delivery), Neon (our database), Vercel and Railway (hosting), Google Analytics (visit statistics), Cloudflare Turnstile (spam protection) and Australia Post or another courier (delivery). Some of these services store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. If you back us on Kickstarter, Kickstarter's own privacy policy covers what you give them.
Keeping it safe
The site runs over HTTPS, access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and we keep information only as long as we need it for the reasons above or as the law requires (for example, tax records).
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Email hello@hempcards.com.au and we will tell you what we hold about you, fix anything that is wrong, or delete it. We aim to reply within 30 days. You can leave the mailing list at any time from the link in any of our emails.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email hello@hempcards.com.au first and we will try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
